Bottle Lighting a Liter of LightThe idea is very easy, but effective and inexpensive. Used plastic bottles, which would end up as garbage, are filled with filtered water and a bit of chlorine (bleach) to create not just an energy saving light, this lamp doesn`t need any electric energy at all, just only the sun. The bottle lighting has just to be inserted in the roof and sealed properly against rain water. There are already more than 15.000 lighting bottles installed in the Philippines and brighten the life of the very poor. Another postive side effect is the prevention of fire hazards in poor areas, caused by bad and often illegal electrical connections and easily-flammable materials.
