The Ravages of Time – Historical Penang

Especially in tropical countries, the ravages of time come into the picture clearly, like with this chinese houses in the historical city of George Town, Penang, Malaysia. George Town, Penang´s main city with its spectacular old architecture and famous chinese temples, like the Leong San Tong Khoo Kongsi temple, was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the year 2008. There will be still a lot of effort needed to save historical buildings and structures from ruin. It will be a bit of a race against time, because the ravages of time and the hot and humid climate will gnaw furthermore on the superb edifices.
