This spectacular chinese decoration element is called Pai Tou. The Pai Tou on the roof of the chinese clan house temple Leong San Tong Khoo Kongsi in George Town, Penang, Malaysia is about 3 meters tall and, like some people say, the biggest in the world. The Leong San Tong Khoo Kongsi in George Town is one of the most spectacular chinese temples outside of China and was built by the forefathers of the Khoo family, who emigrated from South China to Penang The building was so magnificent, that upon its completion, the roof was hit by lightning and caught fire. The people believe it happened due to Khoo Khongsi´s resemblance to the emperor´s palace in China. George Town, Penang´s main city with its spectacular Leong San Tong Khoo Kongsi temple was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the year 2008.
