If we came to loathe something, then it´s the christmas song Jingle Bells. It starts by beginning of November every year, shopping malls, restaurants, bars and supermarkets in our home country Thailand are playing Jingle Bells all day long. Christmas in Thailand ? Thailand is a Buddhist country and Christmas isn´t even a public holiday. So why they torture our ears with Jingle Bells ?
The answer is possibly very easy, they don´t know other Christmas songs and that´s good so. As we went to our local Thai market, at Christmas day the 25th, just to buy vegetables, we´ve got received by Jingle Bells. Usually there is just 2 times a day sound is comming out the speakers and that´s the national Thai anthem at 8:00 o´clock morning and 6:00 o´clock evenning. I said to our vegetable seller: Ho Ho Ho… Nice music here…He looked daggers at me ! I had to hear that song already more then a hundred times today and yesterday it was the same, he replied. All sellers here are stressed out. What a nice idea to bring people in cheerful Christmas spirit by playing an infinite loop Jingle Bells. Finally we stumbled upon a chinese version of Jingle Bells from the chinese lip sync artists RnJ, which represent our feelings for that song.
