Choo Choo the Emperor Pug was born in Thailand and he is as crazy as pugs are. Pugs are probably originated from China, where they has been bred since about 2000 years, as a dog for kings and emperors.
It was a privileg to kings and emperors to own or even touch a pug. They was called Lo-Chiang-Sze or Foo (Fu). The popularity of this curious creatures spread out to Tibet, where they mostly been kept by Buddhist monks as some kind of a temple guardian dog. One says that Chinese guardian lions (Foo or Fu Lions) are inspired by pugs as well.
Pug Choo Choo is wearing a Yao hilltribe costume from North Thailand and we think it becomes him very well. The photo shootings wasn´t that easy indeed, pug Choo Choo is very impatient and can´t sit quiet for just a second. We needed a few hours until we could get a few good pics and we had to play with him in the garden, to make him tired.

At the end of the 16. century, dutch merchants brought pugs to Europe, where they also became a royal dog. There are many stories about pugs and royals and nowadays pugs are still very, very popular. They are considered to be very faithful with their owners and they have their very own character. The whole pug history, a small sa paper (mulberry paper) pug, which we bought a few years ago and our own pug Choo Choo inspired us to that crazy photo shooting. Just a few weeks later, a few days before his 1. birthday, our beloved pug Choo Choo has been stolen and sold by drug addicts.
